About Payne & Ford

Mark Payne Garden Maintenance was born over 15 years ago after we found that as we designed and built gardens through our sister company Mark Payne Landscape Design, increasingly clients were asking us if we would come back and look after the gardens we had created for them.

So it was Elaine (Mark’s partner in business and in life) who got out there, trowel in hand and started making maintenance visits to a select few clients to see if this idea of having two strings to our bow was a goer.

Since then we have expanded our client base, including not only gardens built by us but new clients across East and West Sussex through to Hampshire and London.

Fast forward to 2025 and we are a thriving, growing team of horticulturalists headed up by Mark and Elaine's daughter Trinity Ford. The relationship between our garden maintenance business and Mark Payne Landscape Design continues - with Mark designing truly wonderful spaces and Trinity providing the planting schemes to bring them to life. This year seemed like the right time to celebrate our founding roots whilst taking a step forward as we pass the baton to the next generation. 

So it is with great pride that we introduce Payne & Ford Garden and Grounds Specialists. Same team of RHS qualified, trained and skilled professionals offering the same high end service, just in a shiny new wrapper. And a little bit of Trinity stamped on the bottle…
